Shelf Life
Your cake is baked to ensure it is as fresh as possible for your order.
To keep your cake in the best condition it must be stored out of sunlight. Iced
cakes should not be refrigerated as the decoration and covering can spoil due to
the moisture in a refrigerator. Buttericed cakes should be refrigerated to ensure
the cake stays cold.
Tiered cakes will be supported by plastic dowel rods which will need to be
removed before serving. Once cut, your cake should be consumed within 5
days. Not including fresh cream or fresh fruit cakes. These cakes should be
consumed within 24 hours.

Non-Edible Items
Most of our cakes will contain a small proportion of inedible items. It is your
responsibility to ensure that these are removed before consumption e.g. support
dowels in tiered cakes, ribbon, wires in sugar flowers, toothpicks in handmade
characters and cling film is sometimes wrapped around flower steams to ensure
the stem doesn’t come into contact with the cake. Some flowers (e.g. ivy,
eucalyptus & baby’s breath) are poisonous and not suitable for use on food
products. So, therefor we will only use artificial versions of these flowers if this
is required on the design. You will be notified when collecting the cake if it
contains any of these items.

Collection
When transporting your cake, we are not liable for any damage to the cake once
it has left our premises. You should ensure that your vehicle is suitable for
transporting the cake before collecting it. We will do everything we can to
provide a well-structured and stable cake but please note, cakes can be very
fragile so you must drive carefully. Please ensure you read the care cards
carefully that are attached to your cake box, this will give clear instructions on
how to store the cake properly.

Allergies/Dietary Requirements
Please let us know if the cake is going to a venue and is required to have a full list
of ingredients and allergies. We can provide this.
Please inform us if there is any allergies. Please note we are a peanut free bakery
but do have other nuts onsite. Some cakes can be made without gluten or diary
but please be aware that all our cakes are baked in the same bakery & confection
room as other ingredients. Therefore, we are unable to guarantee but do our
best to minimize the risk of cross contamination.

Complaints
Any refund given for disputes regarding a cake design, or the quality of a
cake are completely at the discretion of Raven Bakery and are not automatic.
Full refunds will never be given for any cake which has been consumed
regardless of the dispute as consumption of the cake is viewed as acceptance
that the cake is adequate for the purpose for which it has been supplied.
All other concerns should be made in writing via email with photographic
evidence of the fault included. A refund will only be issued if the cake is returned
to us in its original condition and we agree that it is unsuitable for consumption
or is not as described in the original quote.
